Hello, my name is Dr. Paul J Mackarey. I developed a passion and adoration for Physical Therapy at a very young age. I was raised in a family of Physical Therapists and have been working in a PT clinic since I was 13 years old. Over the years working in these clinics I developed a love for the complexity and ever-changing career of Physical Therapy. Furthermore, the relationships and connections that I established with the patients I served were unique and incomparable. For these reasons and many others, I set his sights toward making a career in the profession I loved.
I graduated from Temple University in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in Health Science and Kinesiology. Then, I spent the next year observing several orthopedic surgeries, to better understand the individuals I would soon serve and working in a Physical Therapy clinic specializing in hand rehabilitation. I then attended Temple University’s Doctor of Physical Therapy Program and graduated in 2015. Throughout my time at Temple’s Doctor of Physical Therapy Program, I studied, for 6 months directly under the tutelage of an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist and Residency Trained Physical Therapist. The experience fostered a passion for evidence-based treatment with particular interest in low back and vestibular disorders. I direct my treatment with the most current physical therapy approaches, supported through research. I implement a variety of manual therapy techniques that are individualized for each of my patients that help expedite their recovery.
I currently live in Philadelphia, PA with my girlfriend, Carina. Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, hiking, kayaking, skiing, golfing and spending time with family and friends.
Dr. Mackarey is currently seeing patients in our Chester Springs location. If you would like to make an appointment with Paul, please call (610) 458-6464.
