Lower Merion High School
Assistant Athletic Trainer
Melanie Johnson, LAT, ATC
Melanie decided to pursue athletic training because she loves sports, working with young people, and serving others. Melanie graduated in May of 2017 from Messiah College with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. Throughout college Melanie had the privilege to work with various sports teams including softball, field hockey, men’s lacrosse, and high school football. Melanie is currently working at Lower Merion High School as the assistant athletic trainer.
This past summer, Melanie had the opportunity to travel to Spain with an American soccer team made up of college athletes and serve as their athletic trainer. The soccer team played multiple games against Spanish teams and also led soccer clinics at local “football” academies. It was really exciting to experience Spanish culture and serve in the sports medicine field in another country.
In her spare time Melanie enjoys spending time with her family and friends, playing soccer, exercising, reading, playing the piano, and traveling to new places.
