TMJ Dysfunction (TMD)

The temporomandibular joint is a joint like any other in our body that is prone to degenerative arthritis, muscular tightness, and instability affecting its and your ability to perform daily functions like chewing, talking, laughing, and sleeping. We will work closely with your DMD/PCP to identify the underlying reason for your pain and dysfunction. Hands-on techniques are used to address joint mobility and muscle tightness, and strengthening/stabilization exercises are used to improve control and coordination of the joint. Sometimes, there is a cervical (neck) component to TMD, and therefore hand-on techniques are utilized as well as strengthening of postural muscles to ensure a longstanding result.
